about

The melody of "In the Bleak Midwinter" is actually the first of the Christmas Yet to Come tracks played, though I've rolled it into this later track to provide a more satisfying album experience.

"In the Bleak Midwinter" is one of my least favourite carols, for its ponderous and mournful tune. I've paired it with a Breath of the Wild-themed arrangement. A bleak midwinter is exactly the situation the fourth "stave" takes place in.

We get another motivic reference to "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen" when we approach Marley's tomb. Then everything goes off the rails, and the two songs are thrown at each other haphazardly in the tense stand-off between Cline and the spirit.
