The track I'm most proud of, this credits sequence takes after Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker, adding in elements from various other songs we've heard over the course of the past hour. It was inspired by the couple of carols I got confused for one another this latest Christmas. The final part works better than it has any right to.
Fact: I'd originally intended the end credits to feature Prokofiev's "Troika" from "Lieutenant Kijé", after gaining a fondness this year for Greg Lake's "I Believe in Father Christmas", but that proved to not quite be in the public domain! The "Nutcracker" march was my second choice, after which I inserted a number of references to cracking nuts of one sort or another into the script for the final scene, which I think benefits the work as a whole.
